POSITION PURPOSE

The Human Resource Advisor is responsible for ensuring client service satisfaction, client retention, risk management, regulatory compliance, and collaborating with the HR Team to provide daily support to client regarding human resource and benefit needs. 
 

Essential Functions

Essential functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Manage client relationships from implementation process through life cycle with Tilson.
    • Oversee all aspects of daily service delivery of assigned client relationships; including ongoing assessment of strategic client needs and recommendations to meet needs and increase Tilson’s perceived value.
    • Collaborate with HR Team to ensure appropriate customer service expectations are met to provide the client with a positive experience.
    • Communicate frequently with other Tilson operational team members regarding client service and elevate concerns and feedback to department heads and executive management via appropriate channels.
    • Coordinate regulatory compliance related to worksite employees in various states, and the required notices and documentation for Tilson and/or the client relationship.
    • Deliver annual benefit plan renewal information to clients, including plan design and cost factors, and recommend contribution strategies from both client and employee perspective.
    • Assist and support client as well as worksite employees with benefits related questions, education and claims issues. 
    • Assist with the training and development of other Human Resource teammates, including but not limited to Human Resource Generalist and other HR Advisors.
 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Minimum 3-6 years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience
    • 1-2 years Business Partner experience working with business owners, executives and/or key decision-makers required.
    • 1+ years multi-site/multi-state external client/customer service strongly preferred.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Demonstrated experience in delivering benefit education to plan participants
    • Demonstrated experience in reading and comprehending plan documents
 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
  • CEBS or GBS preferred
  • Life and Health Insurance License preferred
  • Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and proof of insurance.

 

knowledge, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of HR operational areas including benefit plan administration, payroll administration, and HR compliance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English with both internal and external customers, including but not limited to colleagues, supervisors, management, clients, client employees, business partners, etc.
  • Ability and experience effectively working with key decision makers (including business owners, managers, controllers); as well as being able to relate and communicate effectively with worksite employees.
  • Ability to present in front of large and small groups on a variety of business-related and/or human resource-related topics.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages a plus.
  • Above average attention to detail necessary.
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize work for timely and accurate completion.
  • Conflict and relationship management skills with the ability to manage complex employee relations issues.
  • Ability to manage and work on multiple projects simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
  • Independently manages projects and recurring tasks to ensure accurate and timely completion.
  • Mathematical skills to understand financial calculations and conduct computations as needed.

 

TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Ability to effectively use email (MS Outlook) and MS Office software programs as necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to effectively use other job-related technology tools, including but not limited to:
    • Image scanners, fax machines, and photocopiers.
    • Multi-Line Phone System.
    • Tilson Ticketing System.
    • HRIS system.
    • CRM.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand under 1/3 of the time.
  • Ability to walk under 1/3 of the time.
  • Ability to sit over 2/3 of the time.
  • Ability to talk or hear from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
  • Ability to lift over 20 lbs. under 1/3 of the time.
  • Driving or flying to/from client sites and/or other locations for business-related purposes.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to work in a remote at home environment that is conducive to protected health information, secure records and system access points.
  • The work environment is that of a fast-paced office with minimal to high noise levels and moderate temperatures.
  • This position requires working independently as well as part of a team.
  • This position requires verbal and face-to-face contact with others on a daily basis.
  • Frequent use of a computer, general office equipment, and/or personal device (e.g., cell phone, tablet) is necessary.
