MISSION

Global Preparatory Academy develops compassionate global leaders through a rigorous education program that focuses on hands-on, cultural and Spanish immersion learning opportunities.

 

SUMMARY

Global Prep Academy, a dual language school that connects students from diverse linguistic backgrounds and educates them together in a highly rigorous, engaging and nurturing environment. Using both English and Spanish to instruct students in all core content areas, students will develop high levels of bilingualism and biliteracy, as well as a deep value and understanding of other cultures. As citizens in a global world, students at Global Prep gain limitless access to other cultures through bilingualism and instruction, which emphasizes critical thinking using global perspectives and experiential learning.


POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for managing classroom activities, taking and reporting attendance, engaging with students, and becoming a part of the GPA family. Our ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a strong command of the English and Spanish language.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher’s substitute lesson plans
  • Take attendance and document daily notes
  • Follow procedures and achieve lesson goals
  • Assigning tasks and homework
  • Motivate students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
  • Create a classroom environment that’s conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
  • Adapt to the various learning styles of students
  • For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments
  • Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Proficient with Google Suite or related software

  • Must be detail oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable to shifting priorities while maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Ability to relate to a diverse population

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience in an educational environment preferred
