What You will Do:
As a Controller at Tilson, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax regulations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting as well as develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Ensure Compliance: Federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with External Auditors: Manage the annual audit process(es)
- Risk Management: Implement and maintain effective risk management policies and procedures.
- Leadership and Development: Supervising and mentoring accounting staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development while fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Process Improvement: Oversee process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting processes.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with senior management on various duties, projects, and initiatives as requested, providing insights and recommendations for financial strategies.
- Accounting Operations: Ensure timely and accurate processing of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and tax related processes and tasks.
Who You Are:
You are a meticulous and strategic financial professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You have a passion for numbers and a commitment to ensuring financial integrity and compliance.
- Education & Experience: You hold a Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance and have a minimum of 5 years of Accounting or Finance experience. You also have 5 years of relevant management experience.
- Certification: A CPA certification is required, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the accounting profession.
- Analytical Skills: You can analyze and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. You can also author reports, business correspondence, and manuals. You have a strong understanding of banking processes including NACHA regulations.
- Financial Project Management: You should have an exemplary history of financial project management.
- Mathematical Skills: You have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions. You can apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
- Problem Solver: You can define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. You are skilled at interpreting complex instructions and dealing with abstract and concrete variables.
