MISSION

Global Preparatory Academy develops compassionate global leaders through a rigorous education program that focuses on hands-on, cultural and Spanish immersion learning opportunities.

 

SUMMARY

Global Prep Academy, a dual language school that connects students from diverse linguistic backgrounds and educates them together in a highly rigorous, engaging and nurturing environment. Using both English and Spanish to instruct students in all core content areas, students will develop high levels of bilingualism and biliteracy, as well as a deep value and understanding of other cultures. As citizens in a global world, students at Global Prep gain limitless access to other cultures through bilingualism and instruction, which emphasizes critical thinking using global perspectives and experiential learning.


POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for researching, developing and writing proposals requesting funds to support Global Preparatory Academy. It will also be responsible for tracking and monitoring proposals, their deadlines and requirements. As well as maintaining accurate electronic records and oversight of the financial administration of federal and state grants under the direction of the Director of Operations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Development

  • Develop proposal and other request concepts in conjunction with Chief Executive Officer and Senior Leadership.
  • Identify new funders to support programs. Meet with academic staff to determine funding needs and program planning.
  • Persuasively communicate the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders.
  • Conduct prospect research; Assembling and submitting grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.

  • Establishes and maintains personal contact and relationships with funding contacts and program officers;
  • Researches and identifies potential funding sources by reviewing prior grants files, following-up on leads, reading K12 Education publications, and analyzing funding reference tools such as annual reports, foundation directories, and IRS 990’s.

 

Grant Management

  • Maintains a tracking system for grant, renewal, and report deadlines.
  • Coordinates the efforts of key staff members to ensure that documents are completed by the specified deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations administered by the grantor.
  • Perform functions of financial administration and reporting to include, but not limited to preparation and timely submission of grant applications, budget, annual reports, financial expenditure reports, and annual performance reports.
  • Maintain and track monthly grant budgets and reimbursements claimed.
  • Maintain all records required for monitoring, evaluation and auditing of federal and state programs.

 

Grant Reporting

  • Submit grant reimbursements and grant cash requests.
  • Reconcile monthly grant reports to ensure expenditures are properly allocated to appropriate grants.
  • Submit grant reclassifications to bookkeepers.
  • Assist in the school’s annual budget development process.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Knowledge of grant processes including accounting and financial reporting.

  • Experience in tracking and reporting data for multiple grant funders

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Google Suite or related software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Grant financial management preferred.
  • Experience in an educational environment preferred.
